Questions
Which Macs does Binqo work on?
Every Mac running macOS 14 Sonoma or later, with Apple silicon (M1 and newer) or an Intel processor. It's one download that runs natively on both.
Do I need a MacBook with a notch?
No. On a MacBook with a notch, Mielo lives right in it. On an iMac, a Mac mini, a Mac Studio, an older MacBook or an external display, Binqo draws its own notch at the top of the screen, so Mielo still has a home.
What does Mielo send to the internet?
Only what you ask. A question goes to Mielo's AI service, with today's calendar and recent clipboard text only if you allow it. Spoken answers are voiced by ElevenLabs. Turning your speech into text is done by Apple's speech recognition, on your Mac whenever possible. Read the privacy page for details.
Does it work with Spotify and Apple Music?
Yes. Binqo shows what's playing in either app, with play, pause and skip right in the notch.
Is my clipboard history saved anywhere?
No. It lives in memory while Binqo runs, and anything a password manager marks as hidden is never kept.
How do updates work?
Binqo updates itself. Once a day it checks binqo.eu for a new version, and when there is one it shows you what's new and installs it with one click. Every update is signed and notarized by Apple, so you know it really comes from Binqo. To check right away, open Settings in the notch and click Check for Updates, or choose it from Binqo's menu bar icon.
